Explaination to Petition to End Daylight Saving Time
Consideration by the government to do away with the daylight saving time should be at the top of the list. This is because research done for a while has shown that the intended purpose of saving energy is not really working. The daylight saving time program is a practice that has run out of time.
There should be some requirements that should be met before the department of transportation responsible for the daylight saving time program makes its legal to run in any state. The requirements that the department of transportation should put into consideration include shipment of goods, places where a lot of people are concentrated and go to work, attend school and worship. However, not many places meet these requirements hence the need to leave this old practice in the past, where it belongs.
All the bad effects of the daylight saving time program have a toll on many sectors of the economy but majorly the air transport sector. The fact that air travel is solely dependent on all the timing made, which will be altered in untold proportions really messes up the plans made by the airport. When the air transport system is crippled some business people may have missed important meetings that would have brought in extra capital to the country all because the daylight saving time program has its grip deep within these states.
When the daylight saving time program begins some people start to experience problems with their health. Increased work injuries, increased number of car accidents , child security issues and number of heart attacks being reported increasing every minute are some of the alarming health issues that are connected to the daylight saving time program.
The rising number of child security issues is due to the fact that these kids now have to leave for school in the dark and leave late in the evenings, this leaves a large window for some dangerous people to take advantage of their weakness and vulnerability, especially girls. Secondly, the increased number of accidents on the roads is people have to wake even earlier to reach their objectives for the day and in the process could end up in accidents since driving in the dark is much more riskier and dangerous than during the day.
Now working longer hours , workers report more injuries because they maybe more exhausted than is usually normal all because this outdated program says that’s how things will run. The fact that the program uses valuable time, funds and effort to be put in place and it doesn’t have any long term or short term effects for that matter makes it even clear that it should be scrapped off.
